Inclusion (SEND)/ Equality / Safeguarding
At Schools for Every Child, our work is built on three pillars, rooted in our core values of altruism, ethics, and pioneering:
Inclusion (Altruism)
We value diversity, remove barriers to learning, and act in the best interests of every child so all can thrive.
Fairness (Ethics)
We challenge discrimination, promote equality, and make principled decisions that put children first.
Safeguarding (Ethics)
We prioritise the safety, well-being, and dignity of every child, creating environments where they feel secure and supported.
We embed these principles in everything we do, from classroom practice to policy. Aligned with the UNICEF Rights of the Child, we uphold every student’s right to education, protection, and respect.

Internal Hubs:
Each of our schools has an internal support hub designed to provide targeted, high-quality support for children who need additional help to thrive. These hubs offer structured, calm environments where pupils receive carefully planned support led by qualified teachers, with strong academic, social, and emotional outcomes. By meeting individual needs in a focused way, our hubs also enable classrooms to run more smoothly, allowing teachers to give more sustained attention to all pupils. This inclusive approach benefits everyone, ensuring children who need extra support receive it without compromising the learning, wellbeing, or progress of others.

The LAC+ Teachers at each of our schools are:
Mrs Sampson at Wyburns Primary
Miss G Elson at North Crescent Primary
Mrs N Bache at Rayleigh Primary
We follow the DfE Guidance: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/promoting-the-education-of-looked-after-children
Safeguarding
Each year, all staff complete updated child protection training and must review key safeguarding documents, including:
-
Keeping Children Safe in Education (2024) - Safer Working Practice Guidance (2022- What to Do If You’re Worried a Child Is Being Abused (2015)
Weekly memos and the staff portal provide further updates. New staff follow a clear induction process. Since any adult could be a child’s first point of disclosure, all staff—paid or unpaid—are trained to spot and report concerns. Parents/carers are also encouraged to share any worries.
We use Smoothwall to log concerns and collaborate with families and agencies when needed. Our team is alert to risks like domestic abuse, exploitation, or radicalisation, working closely with specialists when required. Senior leaders and governors undergo safer recruitment training, ensuring thorough vetting (DBS/reference checks) and professional boundaries in staff-pupil relationships.
Safeguarding concerns must be reported to the school's DSL (designated safeguarding lead) ASAP.
Our Trust DSL is L Faris (L3 certificate & proof of Teaching qualification below)
